Given the state of the bussiness why are MON adding more aircraft? surely they will be doing less flying this year than last

T6NL 15th Feb 2012 19:14

I would be rather surprised if they were doing less flying this year than last with 2 additional aircraft in the fleet for the summer!! What about all the new routes to Italy & Croatia?

MKY661 15th Feb 2012 21:08

I flew into MAN today and there was a Monarch A320 in the new colours at the far end by the freight terminal. Maybe it was that or it might of been G-OZBK as that is in MAN at the moment.

Anyways look forward to seeing it if it wasnt what i think i saw.

The additional a/c are all part of the business plan put into place by MON shareholders/management.Another eight a/c are planned to join the fleet over the next five years.

Also is G-MONR's decals still going to be applied as i have heard it is being disposed of at the end of the summer along with an A320 (G-OZBB or G-MPCD)

Looks very good , jet 2 need to follow suite

Yes, that is the plan at the moment and the a/c you spotted in the new colours when you returned from GIB was G-OOPP.

Skipness One Echo 17th Feb 2012 18:34

Saw G-EOMA today with new titles, which by appearances hadn't been washed before they were applied!

ZOOKER 17th Feb 2012 18:46

On the rear of the fuselage it says "Fly your way every day". This statement is horsesh*t. Today, the wind has been westerly and no Monarch aircraft have 'flown my way'.
Why do third-rate marketing/branding tossers come up with this nonsense?

BOAC-CUNARD, PAN-AM, EASTERN, TWA. CP AIR. The names said it all.

For your information, all areas where the "decals" were applied were prepared in accordance with the relevant 3M technical data sheets. I know, as I applied them :ok:

I'm not sure what Monarchs long term plans are for this aircraft but it would benefit from a fresh coat of paint.:)

Skipness One Echo 17th Feb 2012 21:45

The bits around the decals looked lovely and clean to be fair....

So why isn't it in the new Monarch colours?

MKY661 22nd Feb 2012 20:24

They took it into a maintenence hangar and stuck the decals on.

Monarch_Pilot67 22nd Feb 2012 21:11

So doesnt Monarch want to use it?

Mr @ Spotty M 23rd Feb 2012 04:29

It is not in the new colours because Monarch are only planning on respraying two a/c this winter, this does not include the two new aircraft.

renort 23rd Feb 2012 15:40

so the question has to be asked: whats the bl:sad:dy point then?

MKY661 23rd Feb 2012 16:04

Probably to encourage more people to fly with them. It has the new 'Fly Your Way, Every Day' on them and also some still say 'flymonarch.com' on them, which is not their website anymore.
