Got a photo somewhere of GFISH (C310) and GCHIP (AA5) parked together (also got it published in Flight Magazine by Uncle Roger:p ).

DBOOM and DBANG were FK27s operated by the same German charter outfit.

IFU*K is genuine, a Ralleye of some kind I believe.

GWNKR - A C172, was at one stage owned by a member of the Flying Lawyers fraternity, the owner (allegedly) asked for the registration out of bravado, and the CAA missed the significance.

CRAPP - alleged to be a Lear45, although I've never seen it or any evidence to prove it.

EIEIO - I'm convinced this is/was a BE200, but it doesn't matter, it's a genuine reg' and that's what counts.:ok:

Contributions of US$100 and over accepted from anyone interested in getting a PP-RUN or PP-RNE machine registered, just for kicks. Ok, I'll put a hundred of my own in.

Down here in Australia, we have:

VH-ASS - an Conaero LA-4. :yuk:

VH-BUM - a CAC CA-25.

VH-DIK - a Bell 206B (owned by Dick Smith).

VH-POO - a Cessna 210. :p

VH-CNT - a Piper PA-38. :}

VH-SEX - a Piper PA-30. ;)

There's probably more funny ones out there, but searching through the whole registrar would take a little too long for me! Have a go yourself here.

Cheers,

Soulman.

SAS had a pair of DC9's reg'd as OY-KGB and OY-CIA.

And yes, OY-KGB did occasionally do the Moscow route.

I was a bit nervous flying G-BOIL for the first time (C172N at Barton). Would have been happier in a G-SPOT..... spot, boil, whats the difference?

Courtman 7th Oct 2003 07:53

Britannia had a short-term lease on a B767-300 which was registered G-BXOP in the UK. Nothing unusual about that, but it was transferred to the Swedish register. In order to save on paint the plan was to remove G-B and replace with SE-. The paperwork almost went through as well before someone noticed it would have been SEXOP!!! It ended up as SE-DZF. Boring!

Yeh G-BUSH (A320) is still doing the rounds at BA.

Ironically , the last time i saw it we were on stand and i was discussing the sensitive art of male grooming (down below:eek: ) with one of the hosties when it pulled in alongside us :)
She nearly died laughing, of all the fleet , it had to be that one:D

atb1943 7th Oct 2003 11:11

There's a DC-9 in Italy registered I-SMEL, an Airbus in Egypt SU-GAR, a Nigerian 1-11 5N-UDE.
Didn't BA once have a Britannia G-ANBG that got re-registered prior to being used as a stately hack?

Richard Noble wanted to register his Farnborough F.1 mock-up G-FARN for display at said show, but someone beat him to it having got their cheque in to the CAA a few days before him. Then a friend mentioned to him that he had been saved some embarrassment because FARN is a naughty word in some Scandinavian tongue. So he used G-FBRO instead.

Some wealthy merchant wanted his wife's name (Gail) in his reg, and eventually used various aberrations (I guess GAIL, GAYL, GAEL, etc) until he got to G-GEIL, which, the pilot recounted, means horny, randy, in German.

There's a diminutive aircraft in Switzerland that runs around as HB-SEX. The Italians obviously had no compunction about what got on the register, I-F#CK was an EC39/D Uribel D, I-FEEL, I-GROW, etc.

There's a very smart Cessna 340 based at Mainz-Finthen called D-IRTY...........!

g'night

In days of yore, Shorts cut a 330 about a bit in order to fit fuselage plugs and a new tail; thus was the roomier 360 born and this prototype was registered G-ROOM.
This was around the time when a certain member of the House of Windsor was getting wed and a man I knew in Shorts (the company, not the menswear), told me that they (the company), were delighted to receive some very nice remarks from a certain HRH, thanking them for their thoughts at this special time.
He swore it was true!
