A great loss for bmi, PM is one of the good guys.
Perhaps he knows something the rest of us dont'? Is anyone aware what role he's going to fulfill?
Gulf is rapidly becoming Derby Aviation in the Desert, bmi on the beach. Perhaps that something Hogan could use in a re-branding?
Well, I wish him the best too.

PM is a great chap, I don't work for bmi but he used to be the Chief Pilot at London City many moons ago when I was a young ops boy.
A great chap and no doubt will be an asset to Gulf Air.
Wish him all the very best.

Good luck Pete! Thanks for all that you've done for me and my colleagues. A true professional and a true gentleman. I can't say I blame your decision either. Difficult shoes to fill

same sentiments as the others
Big loss to bmi, big gain to Gulf.
Basically one of the best, a good bloke. I would work for him anyday. Wonder if Gulf is recruiting??
Best of luck Pete.

I echo the sentiments above..............,
One of aviations 'nice guys'.
But.....more importantly , who will replace him ??
Is any one prepared to start the betting ?
Come on, lets have your names, who's it gonna be ?
Geoff could sure use some help on this one.
ps: please, nobody suggest , my ticker wouldn't stand it
Moley.

PM's replacement ?, now that's a bit trickey........
Traditionally the "team" rarely changes, some come, titles are re-jigged, some go (but not forever).......to wait in the wings like cinderella always expecting 'the phone call' anytime now !!
Hows about (in no order of personal preference), let's use seniority for simplicity :
JS : it's been a long time since the DC9 'fuel guage' fiasco.
MS : ??? fill your own comments !
DM : been very quiet lately, could be a contender.
MG : likewise.
GL : may want the job back.
KJ : might go for a new challenge away from pure training.
SS : the 'quiet man'.
IC : "inappropriate" comment already made elsewhere on thread.
JR : a return from 'baby maybe'.
IL : my tip for the top.
DO : a strong contender? young enough.
RM : I know it'll never happen now, crying shame, retirement calls.
TB : may regret jumping ship for baby too soon.
PB : ?????????
JQ : the logical choice, but would involve major training changes.
OR.........
someone "unknown" say.........
PW, PH, BJ..............fill in your own initials.
Rhoada-Gorrocks.

Fuji-san,
Congratulations!
You've hit the nail on the head. It's musical chairs time yet again.
I'm intrigued by your top tip for the replacement. Are you going to enlighten us as to why you think IL is the man for the job?
I've no idea who will get the job but I would like it to be JS or JQ.

Uncle Pete..........
This was not my 'top tip' for this post, this time round necessarily,
but my 'tip for the top', maybe some time in the future.
Come on Anthony, lets hear your view.....
Rhoada Gorrocks.

Jeez...u members of the old school have a lot of
axes to grind!!!
From an Ops point of view, (if u think that holds any sway !!)
It's a huge shame that Pete has jumped ship to join bmi in the desert !
Whoever replaces him has a job and a half on their hands and will need to be able to stand on their own 2 feet..I know who I'd like to see in the job, but since when has a plebs opinion counted !!
Good luck Pete !

So let's hear your suggestions then AC
From another airline, maybe !
It really is a shambles, is'nt it ?
Of the Fuji-san list, maybe some would actually be safer shuffling paper in the office where they can't do any real harm.
Only one name stands out as being of the sort of human being I'd want in my team and that's IL. First priority would be to send him on a karate course.
None of the remainder.
And you can have the best Ops management team in the world, but there's still a potential weak link getting in the way of turning that into beneficial results.
I really do wonder if it would matter at all if the chair was left vacant (AOC considerations aside) !
Anyway, you've got my one and only candidate. Happy ?

Why don't you include yourself, AC?
"And you can have the best Ops management team in the world, but there's still a potential weak link getting in the way of turning that into beneficial results."
Not for all the tea in China ! The words head, banging and brick wall spring to mind. Only aspirants who merely desire personal ego massage should apply ?
Maybe the rest of your airline will become bitter and negative
