My understanding is that all those ex-Saudia L-1011s have a caviette on them that no booze of any kind can be served/carried on them, for the life of the machine.
Seems bizzare to say the least!!!
I guess that's why they are still standing in the desert, unused!

Ah...not true, Flight Detent, they sit unsold for generally two reasons, poor prep for preservation and asking price too high. SV has never sold any of their old airliners, only option that came up was a trade to Boeing...B707's + cash (or oil) for B747's.

there is an existing Jordanian L1011 operator (other than RJ)...sort of...Amman based Universal Airlines on a 9L- Sierra Leone AOC - will be operating Haj again this year I understand.
