L1011 Tristar at Kavala (KVA) Greece

Flew into KVA with TUI last week and noticed an old Tristar parked on the field which, according to someone at KVA, had been parked there since 2005. It appears to be in storage but with KVA being close to the Aegean Sea I wonder if this a/c will ever fly again. Just me being curious!

Former BA -200, no way it's ever going to fly again.

AFAIK, there's only a single remaining airworthy TriStar.

The aircraft was delivered new to British Airways in 1980 & was registered G-BHBM In 1994 she was sold by BA to American International Airways where she was converted to a freighter, in 1999 she ended up at Kitty Hawk International and in 2005 Kitty Hawk ran out of money and left the aircraft abandoned at Kavala Airport. I'm surprised it hasn't been scrapped by now.
I saw it at Kavala back in 2015 - see below image

What happened to the one that was rotting away at CDG on the cargo ramp. I see it was still there in 2016 but gone in 2017 according to Google Earth.

There won't be anything of value other than metal so costly to scrap.

There used to be several Tristars parked at Taba, on the Eqyptian Sinai, a few years ago.

Not sure if they are still there.

Just the two left there now. They were last operated by Royal Air. TY-KEC [c/n 1225] and TY-KEQ [c/n 1199]

The were both originally delivered to Delta Air Lines in 1980-1981.
