Looking at some liveries, those aren't even visualized on all sizes of airplane before being applied. What might look great on a big plane because the windows are small in relation to the lettering that goes across them doesn't necessarily look as sharp on smaller planes where the lettering gets "broken up" by the windows (or is unreadable with doors open).
I have been in the industry for >30 years. As far as my own airline is concerned, some changes were instigated by executives on the way out, a bit like pissing up the tree. Others have left us with office colours matching two liveries back...
Eurowhite is trash and lacks character. IMHO the only reason is maximum flexibility, probably get a discount on the leasing rate when all the lessor has to repaint on lessees' defaulting is the tail.
In case of doubt just look how great most of the currently fashionable retro liveries look on modern A/C.
