Military transports over W. Sussex today

Driving west from Brighton at about 6.00 pm today I saw two (or possibly one twice) large military transports at fairly low level. The first looked like it was lining up for Gatwick. Both had T tails which looked quite swept. I have never seen any comparable aircraft in this area - at least since the demise of Shoreham BofB airshow. Any ideas? C17?

It was an RAF A400M ZM419, looks like it did a low run - or possibly a touch and go and then a rather higher circuit at Shoreham. Went on to do some circuits at Guernsey and presently approaching Torbay at 11000'.

It's currently in the circuit at Brize after a bunch at Exeter.
