BA MINIBUS STORAGE

A lot of the older BA 320s, 321s are now making their way to Madrid for presumably long term storage.
A318 G-EUNA presumably also still there.
The likes are leaving LGW, GLA & LHR from storage to MAD, a lot of these at the Gatwick based G-GATx A320s
Maybe storage costs cheaper and greater space available down there.

I wonder why they're going to Madrid rather than, for example, Teruel or some other 'ghost' airport ? Although Barajas is a sprawling airport, I can't imagine the storage costs are very low, even if you have impeccable connections there!

I thought the same. Wonder if many more will head down that way UNLESS they are due heavy check at IB MX?
Saw this morning also that there are a handful of BA A380 due to enter long term storage in Teruel as well and depos from CHR.

Rumour mill also saying G-CIVW will be preserved at Dunsfold, due to go soon (I think 22nd Oct mentioned but not certain)

Dry climate - lots of space (perhaps no longer the case at Teruel), and the Spanish connection for potentially keeping the costs down - what's not to like?

GCIVW due into Dunsfold on Thu 22 Oct but no time posted on the website where I read it; thankfully the plans to obstruct the runway with unwanted houses are 'on indefinite hold'.

Major movements last few repositioning large numbers of A320, A321 to Madrid and Mallorca (PMI) for dry storage along with movement of A380s to MAD.
I suppose PMI is still dry and relatively warm this time of year lots of space to park multiple BA jets
