A sonic boom scared a lot of people this morning in Paris
Does this sound 'normal'?

No, and someone will be getting a talking to no doubt. The chance of broken windows and/or accidents due to the sudden loud noise and vibration is great when FJ jockeys go ape over large conurbations. I remember being in Nice some years back and a couple of Mirage were doing high energy manoeuvres over the Med some 30miles away, but they still manage to break windows and startle enough people for the Mayor to take government level action.
