Lancaster over London

Does anyone know why the BBMF Lancaster was flying low level over London today (24.06.18) ??? Approximately 12 noon in a SSW direction. Glorious sound of the engines....

......so I was the only one to see it on Sunday ? ;-) Oh well. It was on it's way from Exeter to Weston Super Scare for an airshow, and needed to do a flypast LL over Green Park in central London at 12.05pm. No idea why that was, and no idea why it was still at 1500ft approx on the outskirts of London, I'm just glad that it was! It looked majestic and sounded wonderful.

At a guess:

"24 June 2018

More than 200 Bomber Command veterans and their families gathered to remember their fallen comrades at a service at Bomber Command Memorial in London’s Green Park today."

That would be the reason! Let's hope that the 200 veterans enjoyed the flypast.

That sounds perfectly reasoned. My benefit in the end ;-)
