Barton VOR [defunct] location co-ordinates.

Good evening, chaps,

Would anyone have the co-ordinates for the Barton VOR that used to be located on EGCC SID's? [1970's]

It was taken out of service and is now a fix. Can the co-ordinates be readable on a Google Earth search, please.

The 1970's AERAD chart [HI] have the VOR but, alas, not the location. I haven't got the accompanying area chart.

Try this ... N53 27 30 W02 27 21

Cribbed from a previous Pprune thread asking exactly the same question

Certainly fits my recollection of the site - I flew over it 6 times a day for about 4 years !!

Interesting that there's no discernable trace of the VOR any more.

Granted, it was decommissioned many years ago, but when you think how many WWII hardstandings are still visible on GE it's a little odd.

Now I'm confused - that's about 4km from the previously-quoted position.
