B-25 over London?

This afternoon, 26/08/16, I am reasonably sure I saw a B-25 Mitchell heading south over Holloway. Not one I've seen before here, anyone else catch sight of it? It kind of went nicely with the Dragon Rapide earlier

PH-XXV of the Dutch historical flight has been at North Weald and was probably heading for Dunsfold when you saw it.

Did not see the B25, but did see two Rapide flights over South London yesterday; normally there is one on a Wednesday and another on Saturday, making good use of the great weather perhaps!

Thanks Dave, most informative. The old stuff often tries to sneak across London but the engine sound always gives the game away - it's frustrating when I can hear them but not see them sufficiently for an ID

One Saturday afternoon last year I saw the B-17 wandering south over Central Croydon having crossed the Thames between Tower Bridge and London City, then back again a little later. It had displayed at Dunsfold. Nice to see the old girl in a fairly unusual setting.

That would have been the 29th August - I caught a distant snap of Memphis Belle over N16, wrong lens for that job though.

Friday afternoon was a good time to be near Treadigraph Towers - the B-17 over Banstead at about 1600 feet then two Norwegian Meteors in line astern then about ten minutes later the B-25.

Blast, I was in our new office - my desk looks east (great for watching vapour trails heading into the dawn on winter mornings!).

Something fast and jet powered shot over Purley at about 4pm today, don't think it was a biz jet.

Norwegian Meteors? Vampires?

The Memphis Belle is in the USAF Museum in Ohio. You must have some lens!
