Question Iata Code 7S8..?

Hi all...i need an help.

So far as googling it as cannot reach any specific and official answer.

So...the new code 7S8, used by some airlines/tables/airports, etc, what it really means?

a) Boeing 737 with Sky Interior ( With or without Winglets)
b) Boeing 737 with Split Scimitar WLs

One site says this, another site says that...and i cant find if its already assumed officially by IATA or any Iata's affiliated site or link.

Tks in advance...JF

IATA code 7S8 is used by Aeromexico for its newer 737-800s, which have both the Split Scimitar winglets and the Sky interior. Minor configuration differences don't normally warrant a new IATA code, but winglets typically do.

The authoritative source for IATA type codes is Appendix A of their twice-yearly Standard Schedules Information Manual (SSIM).

I think the Split Scimitar versions have an ever so slightly larger wingspan? Due to the pointy down bit, hence the new IATA code for parking stand compliance.

Plus its nice to know what version you've got coming in before the shiny new scimitar goes slicing through a baggage curtain
