ELY 4 just landed at Shannon en route New York to Tel Aviv, anybody any clues.

It does indeed sound like they offloaded someone. They landed on 24, did a 180 at the end, back taxied and took taxiway A to stand 34. They confirmed operations normal to the tower controller and did not seem to have emergency equipment standing by on landing.

Medical divert perhaps. Or, in some cases the U.S. has flag stopped an outbound flight after catching someone on the no-fly list after takeoff.
