Aircraft ID question 11Jul (probably inbound Duxford airshow)

Hello experts

Just had a pair of aircraft fly low level of North Cambridge (1400L) guessing inbound to the airshow today at Duxford.

Description is single prop aircraft, wings looked very similar to a classic spitfire shape, Engines looked to be more of a radial-type, but not very punchy-sounding.....

One silver with red, one silver with blue...definitely a pair in formation.

Any ideas what they were? Over to you pls

There were two Spitfires lurking around the Reading/Blackbushe area at about 1.30pm. Where they went thereafter I don't know but might have gone to Duxford?

The two Spitfires over Reading were BBMF machines, so unlikely to have been what the OP saw.

Bang - spot on, definitely them. Many thanks for the reply.

Had never heard of them before; they look a lot of fun!
