squawk 7700

Is it the one with the registration G-BYxx (can't remember the last two digits). If so it does seem to happen quite a lot.

G-BYVC I think is the one. I got one for today for it which isn't in my history, and there's only one other occurrence showing over the last month, but it has definitely happened more than that.

Based out of Wittering or Cranwell I think. They're Grob trainers for the RAF.

The most likely explanation is a student adjusting the transponder through the numbers on an old analogue box & running past 7700. Flying instructor always taught me to turn it to Standby before changing Squawk.
