Mesa CRJ-200 ended up scrapped after master cautions/warnings

Accident: Mesa CRJ2 at Phoenix on Apr 2nd 2011, burning odour, multiple master cautions and warnings on final approach

Mesa Airlines Canadair CRJ-200 received several master warnings and cautions accompanied by burning smell at final approach in 2011. It landed safely.

It never flew again.
The aircraft has been scrapped in 2012, it was a 14-year-old airframe (N7264V).

NTSB reported that post occurence investigation showed "substantial damage to the right hand pylon in the aft equipment bay area directly above the APU exhaust duct".

Does anyone know more? Was the pylon damage related to the burning smell and warnings? Was it the result, or was it the cause?

And why "preliminary note" by NTSB was released today, 4 year after occurence?
