Hi guys, I'm an aspiring pilot thinking about studying pilot course and I just have some questions. It'll be great if you can answer my Qs. TIA
1. Is it hard to study aviation?
2. If you can compare aviation to other course in terms of difficulty, what would it be(phd, com sci, engineering, etc.)?
3. What kinds of attitudes do you need to be successful?
4. How many flight hours does it need to be a commercial pilot?

Aviation" is such a wide ranging subject that it might be difficult to answer your questions simply. Aviation encompasses pilots, air traffic controllers, engineers - both aircraft and ground engineers dealing with ATC systems, medics and many other careers. Some require licence examinations of varying complexity, others do not. A good education is needed for most.

It's not hard to study, but it may be hard to learn. Start by picking up a student pilot's or 2 at the library or bookstore. If you like it, go to your local airport and look into a Private Pilot Ground School course.

High school or junior college level. Concepts get more involved and difficult as you progress from Private to Commercial to Air Transport certificates.

Listen. Learn. Improve.

You can get a Commercial Pilot License with as little as 250 hours. However, it is difficult to get a job as a commercial pilot with that little experience. Commercial airline pilots need 1500+ hours.

so how do pilots get to airlines with little experience? is there some sort of grading system while training if your grades are high there is a higher chance of getting in with that few experience? connections? referrals? etc?
