The Telegraph is competing with the Mail!

After yesterday's picture of an A380 illustrating an article about a flight to GIB, today this masterpiece :

An Easyjet airplanecame frighteningly close to disaster while attempting to land at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam.

Strong winds made conditions difficult for the pilot, who seemed to misjudge his approach to the runway.

As the plane approaches the tarmac the pilot struggles to bring it level, and the right wheel touches the runway for less than a second before the pilot pulls up quickly.

Luckily, the second attempt goes much more smoothly, and disaster is averted.

Perhaps someone with more knowledge than I could comment on the video, but it looked to me like a normal procedure well executed.

Disaster?

Since when was it an 'airplane' in proper English?

Boeing 757 !!! :-D. Well done PIC, if that had been another certain LCC, they would have slammed it down on the runway like they were planting spuds

The 'disaster' text has been changed :
An easyJet airplane made the briefest of touch-downs while attempting to land at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam recently.

Strong winds made conditions difficult for the pilot, who decided to perform what is known as a "go-around procedure".

As the plane approaches the tarmac the pilot struggles to bring it level, and the right wheel touches the runway for less than a second before the aircraft pulls up quickly.

Luckily, the second attempt goes much more smoothly.

No-one was in any danger during the flight, easyJet has said.

The company released a statement saying: "Our pilots are highly trained to perform ‘go arounds’ as a precaution and in line with our procedures.
"The safety of its passengers and crew is the airline’s highest priority."

I have noticed in the last while that the quality of both the DM and the Telegraph have gone downhill, the DM being ever more superficial and the Telegraph running almost the same articles as the DM The Americanisation of the UK press is going at a good clip. Airplane instead of aeroplane/aircraft and my personal favourite 'Dating'
