Turkish Airlines flight THY5YV to Manchester

Hi

Interested to know if anyone knows what happened with this flight into Manchester this afternoon. I was at work in Ashton Under Lynne when I saw the plane do a circuit around the town with undercarriage down before it went into make a successful landing. This happened at 15.00 hours ?

Flightradar24.com - Live flight tracker!

Not sure if I have managed to post the link properly but the time is definitely right

Bit tight as no2? ergo orbit rather than full missed approach. Unstable approach? A u Lyne is 8 - 9 miles out, 3-4 minuets to landing Take your pick.

Sorry my link to the flight radar is not very good but if you playback from 14.55 the flight comes in from Littleborough then Shaw before doing its circuit around Ashton.

It could well be because when he was making his approach, Jet2 had a B737 lined up ready to go on the same runway. G-GDFA departed 15:00.
