Belgian TV host from 0 hours --> 737 in one month

Anyone got the behind details about this? What type of license was legally required to have to do this? Must be approved by Aviation Authority as well I guess. Anyone has a clue of the paperwork/licenses behind this?

- depending on what he did with the jet, possibly none. It could just be a step up from buying an hour 'joyride' in a 737 sim, so a month is a 'long time', since a 1 hour briefing would have been enough.

As jst says, assuming a private flight, no licence required, not even a type rating, just a wad of cash. Presumably a qualified 737 pilot in the LHS.

This TV series consists of extreme challenges, to be accomplished by the host. Among others, swimming across the British channel, climbing the 'El Capitan' in Yosemite, ski-jumping off the big Garmisch-Partenkirchen ski-jump. Aviation related, he had to build and fly his own foot-launched glider at the Wasserkuppe and in the episode seen here, performing a couple of t&g's in a B737 without the FI intervening. Probably the least risky of them all...

However it caused quite a stir up to the Belgian parliament. Belgian CAA started an investigation, but couldn't find anything illegal: he had passed his medical, took the PPL theory exams and had a valid SPL. Went solo on the Cirrus and performed many B737 sim training sessions. The actual t&g’s at EBOS with chief pilot/FI in LHS and extra FI in the jump seat, produced spectacular TV but was probably the safest ‘stunt’ he did.

Without looking at the vide, I suspect it's a takeoff config warning while the flaps are travelling from landing to takeoff config on the roll.
