RPLL (Manila) briefly closed today for VIP ?

Out of curiosity,I was following a friend's flight ( SIA 619) into Manila this afternoon (0930Z) on FR24 (yes,I know it's a bit hit and miss).

I noticed at least 5 inbound flights in holding patterns and no-one landing. My friend said there was a lot of activity at the VIP lounge and that some Big Cahuna was around.

Is it a possibility that the airport was briefly closed for a VIP flight as happens sometimes in Africa and other places ?

There's a significant terrorist situation currently happening, here in Mindanao, down in Zamboanga City so could have something to do with it.
