Post Air transport with commercial pilot training (Uni Course)

Hi, I've recently applied and been accepted onto the course for BA(Hons) Air Transport with commercial pilot training course at Buckinghamshire university, but I'm unsure wether this is my best course of action to becoming a pilot. This course offers you a full CPL with a Frozen ATPL and such at the end of the 3 year course. Is this the best option for me as i really want to go to uni and i know it changes you as a person, but all I've wanted to be since i was about 6 is a pilot and i don't want to become handicapped as a prospective new pilot to an airline because i went to university. Would a direct course by any of the FTO's be better or just the same as going to uni.

Any help would be much appreciated

Eddie
