Searchlights over Bosnian coast?

I was on a flight last night at about 0130 hours local time over the Adriatic flying south towards Greece. Sitting in a window seat I became aware of light shining on part of the fuselage and eventually spotted two very powerful white beams from a town shining up to 35,000ft and partly illuminating the plane.

Anyone any idea what they were and where they were from. I wonder if they caused the flightdeck crew problems?

Just south of Slivno Ravno, a few miles of Bosnian coast.

Frequently seen over mainland Europe. Apparently they are used to "advertise" nightclubs - or so my FOs tell me...

At least you made it to the target and no enemy fighters were encountered.
