BAW 9L Holding and Dumping Fuel

Hi,

Anyone know why BAW 9L (G-BNWM) is dumping fuel in a holding pattern over south east Wales? He's clearly visible, complete with streaming wingtips, from here (a couple of miles West of Abergavenny)

Just for added spectacle, there's also now a VC10 holding in an overlapping but lower hold - ready for a flypast at St Athan. A small consolation for interested passengers on board the BA 767 perhaps? Probably not...

Cheers

Perhaps the VC10 is catching the dumped fuel?

The aircraft has just left the hold and appears to be returning to LHR.

Heading change, would now appear to be headed for Gatwick.
Or maybe just trying to keep us all guessing as it appears to have changed its mind about Gatwick.

A couple of laps of Ockham hold, after lots and lots of laps of the Bristol channel. That must have been a fun PA to make...

Flight back underway with G-BNWW. No long haul 767s available to operate tonight's Moscow because of this so subbed to a 747 (G-CIVR).

For those interested, it was a slat asymmetry problem.

The long haul 767 operation has been under severe pressure today with numerous type subs, cancellations and a big delay to the Hyderabad flight.

The 787s can't come soon enough!
