BA016, SYD - LHR Sunday 21st April

I HAD to post this. After a 13 hour SIN - LHR leg, the only reason I knew we'd landed, even though I was expecting it ( ) was the increased rumbling and seeing the spoilers activate.

I travel by air more than average, and I have NEVER been treated to such an immaculate display of a professional at work.

The Nr Fairy:

A 'perfect touchdown' is seldom the aim. To meet performance criteria you must be at the right speed, the right place at the right pitch attitude and 'G' loading.

Very smooth touchdowns sometimes arise due to excessive speed or too high pitch attitude. A wet runway requires a firm touchdown, for example, to prevent aquaplaning.

Autoland systems provide for a 'firm' touchdown.

It is nice to be appreciated though.
