fish Mosquito flying over SW France ?

Earlier today I saw what I could only say was a DH Mosquito flying between Poitiers and La Rochelle. What did I see ?
Must say it sounded like 2 Merlins too !

Many thanks. Must say it looked and sounded magnificent at around 1000 ft in a cloudless blue sky. Quite made my day
