Question Runway alignment at CPT
The main runway at Cape Town Airport is aligned NW-SE and fits the prevailing winds. Yet the designations are 01 and 19, which to my reckoning is NNE-SSW.

You have to add on the magnetic variation which is 26degrees there.

It's the difference between magnetic north and true north. Research complete.

Yes, but such a big discrepancy. True North. What is Truth? I know, a star.
