Wot was that deep turboprop over London 24th May?

Cycling home yesterday near West Wickham and a basso profundo turboprop ground its way overhead at about 5:30pm, routing roughly Heathrow to Dover. Managed to get a glimpse through the haze and would say it was between 15-20000'.

Had a look on FlightRadar 24, but they don't seem to have any playback for that period.

I assume an AN-12? Anyone know for sure? (Don't think it was the AN-22, me fillings weren't rattling! )

The sky was dark with An-12s yesterday, with 8 flights by 4 different aircraft noted over southern UK.

Yours was probably UR-CAG.

an12

Hi Treadders, Dave was spot on with UR-CAG,but the best one was EW-275TI also a AN12,which flew over an hour before that at approx.16-53hrs.

Normally I would have been pedaling my way through the mean streets of Croydon at that stage, but a last minute conversation with the MD in the office delayed me!

Just as well, as traffic, pedestrians, trams and AN-12 spotting cyclists do not a good martini make!

Cheers chaps,

Treadders

I got a pic of UR-CAG at Birmingham on Wednesday, I think it departed while I was there. So it must have hauled more cargo in yesterday
If you're looking for An12's head up to Birmingham, they seem to be almost daily there recently.
