EGCC Viewing Park Mounds
I went the other day and noticed that the two smaller mounds were being worked on, most of the fence was gone and there was a small digging on top. Does anyone know if they are getting rid of them for good or are they just improving them.

Sorry if this is the wrong area, didn't know where to post it and couldn't find any information on it.

I heard that they are strengthening /raising the fences.Apparently someone thinks they are vulnerable to ram raiding.
So they are going to increase the size of the mounds so you can still see over the fence. Another waste of money .

The whole of MANs perimeter is getting upgraded to DoTs security specifications which includes higher, stronger fencing.
One of the major attractions of the viewing park is the ability to stand on the mounds and look over the fence. Obviously the old mounds won't be high enough, fortunately the viewing park management have realised this and as a result they are spending a considerable amount of money to make the mounds bigger.
No not a waste of money, an investment in a facility.
How many other airports in UK would go to these troubles ?
