Question TOM532 Boeing 737-800 Squawk 7700

TOM 532 from Cardiff to SSH is current squawking 7700 and circling around Dover at 10,000ft / 250kts (presumably burning off fuel).

Anyone know whats going on with it?

763

A Thomson 763 has just came down from Glasgow to Gatwick but did not appear to be the correct flight as it was listed as coming from Manchester to GOA.

Maybe a replacement aircraft for this flight?

A 763 I doubt TOM will be using as a replacement unless LGW has an outbound to SSH in the next few hours. I'd suggest either medical emergency or loss of cabin pressure to be expected reasons for this.

TOM has a scheduled SSH out of LGW at 1300.

There might be a chance that they combine these flights as the Cardiff crew will be very tight on hours. They won't be able to depart ex LGW to go to SSH without going into discretion, and even then it depends on how long it takes to sort the problem out that made them divert to LGW in the first place.

Plus the small point that it's a tad unlikely that a B738 crew is going to be rated to fly a B767 too......

Very true A4, but that can be solved reasonable quickly by calling a crew in of standby. However having said all that you then got the additional problem of the Cardiff pax ending up in LGW tonight. And a double drop is out of the question as the crew is unable to do that with regards to duty hours.

But I am sure that TOM will think about all this and gets the Pax to their destination as quickly as possibly.

767 replacement a/c sourced. Flight operating 1 way due crew hours.
CWL crew are rated on 737, 757 and 767 (due to Winter LH ops)
