BBC TV Series Buccaneer 1979-80

This is a long shot; but I am keen to attain a copy of the BBC drama series Buccaneer about a fictitious cargo airline (Red Air) operating Britannia's. I have already tryed the BBC but no luck. If anyone has a VHS copy I would be very interested in acquiring it.

The series was broadcast around 1980 and they used Redcoat's Britannia's from Luton for the filming.

It only ran for one series. Any help appreciated.

The series was repeated some years ago on one of the "Gold / Dave" type satellite TV repeat channels (cant remember which). Might be worth contacting some of these stations? I worked for Redcoat & helped with the making of the series - interesting times!

Good series which I to enjoyed. Remember the shots of "crabbed" approaches with two engines shut down. Great !!. Sadly G-BRAC was involved in a fatal accident near Boston USA just before the series was shown. Aircraft destroyed and 7 people killed. Plans for a second series cancelled.

I too remember this programme. A/c had Redcoats on one side and Redair on t'other. Used to park outside the old Monarch hangar at LTN.
Weren't they Canadair CL44's though, with a completely swing open tail section?

Only Britannias were in the TV series, although Redcoat did get a CL44 (GBRED), not long before they went bust.if I remember correctly.
