787 Inlet Cowl Surface Damage

Inlet Cowl Surface Damage: First delivered 787 is currently undergoing training flights. On Oct 13 JST while towing the aircraft at night, JAL ground crew hit a passenger boarding bridge resulting in inlet cowl surface damage.

A flight extension of 50FC was provided to continue operations on Oct 14 JST. The morning training flight schedule was impacted but the number of flights could be maintained for that day.

ANA will take the decision for replacement early next week.

oop's!

Are the inlets made from composite or traditional construction?
