Quantas

here is a challenge - can anyone tell me why, on 13 May 1989, Quantas VH-EBX B747 visited Dublin, and why one week later, on 20 May 1989, VH-EBU and VH-EBX both visited Dublin?

You are correct, i stand admonished With regard to your question, i have no idea, but as the Celtic Tiger hadn't started roaring back in 1989, it might have been an Australian tour company bringing ethnic Irish citizens back to the auld sod for some type of visit ? Maybe check the dates to see if there were any special events/historical anniversaries that might fit ?
