Emirates A380 @ LHR (originally an Airbus test aircraft)

Caught this Emirates A380 @ LHR yesterday(29/06/2011). It was originally used by Airbus as a test aircraft (F-WWEA). It was then refurbished was delivered to Emirates in June 2010 almost 4 years after it originally flew.

Nice video!

Never knew that 'EA' was sold on to EK.

I'm presuming they would have got a good discount for this aircraft ? She was MSN 09 and first flew on 25/08/2006.

It's not as if they'd been flying her solid in those four years. Is it not the case that it was built for Emirates and then held back for further testing? It's not uncommon, BA got G-VIIA and G-BGDA well out of sequence but I don't believe there was a discount.

NB you missed the new Emirates reg in your post, this aircraft is now A6-EDJ.
The sequence is :

A6-EDA A380-861 11
A6-EDB A380-861 13
A6-EDC A380-861 16
A6-EDD A380-861 20
A6-EDE A380-861 17
A6-EDF A380-861 7
A6-EDG A380-861 23
A6-EDH A380-861 25
A6-EDI A380-861 28
A6-EDJ A380-861 9
A6-EDK A380-861 30
A6-EDL A380-861 46
A6-EDM A380-861 42
A6-EDN A380-861 56
A6-EDO A380-861 57
