Turbulence at high alt & low ground speed

So I was travelling on a 757 TATL yesterday... we are at FL400 and there's a bit of moderate chop. The ground speed on the tv screens reads 369mph.

It just seemed really really slow...

What do pilots do when flying through turbulence like this at that level? What options are available? We had already climbed from FL36 to FL40 for a smoother ride but it made no difference.

I wouldn't say I was "concerned" by the low speed numbers but when you are used to seeing it up in the 500's i thought 370mph at that level was slow.

Do put me at ease or whatever!

I'd have thought 369mph at 4000 ft was a bit speedy......

I am assuming the OP means 40,000ft and forgot to add the zero on both the stated FL's?
