Strange Aircraft over Andover Last night?

A friend reported hearing a particularly loud aircraft over Andover last night, I suspect it may have some bearing on what's going on in Libya currently, and may have been departing Fairford....

Would be interested to know what it was (as long as it's not too secret of course... fully aware of "careless talk costs lives" etc)

Why would a plane out of Boscombe be involved JENKINS?

Or am I extrapolating much too much?

Now don't worry about that. The Libyan military intelligence are still fully absorbed trying to find out about the mysterious "VC10 Tristar" so reliably reported in the BBC breakfast news this morning. They must have bought all the copies of the "Ian Allen Military Planes Spottoguide" from the Tripoli bookshops to see what it is.

SHJ,

Reports suggest it was a particularly loud aircraft.

<<Red Rover in an Andover over Andover over!>>

Sounds like a derivation of the oldie: "Radar 'andover. Andover over Dover, over.."

Still not telling, but a thread elsewhere on the subject of large aircraft belonging to our cousins across the Atlantic and the use of long British runways by the same might be worth a gander - or a goose for that matter.

Well one thing is for sure, whatever was heard was not operating out of Fairford, nothing is...until the V-22's later this month
