PC Flt Sims/737NG
Cap in hand I tread warily here to ask:
I seek a flt sim programme (Windows) that will aid teaching of IRS/FMC prep and loading for 737NG. I have FS2004/PMDG 737NG which is 95% there, but need advice on whether I move up to FSX/PMDG and/or X-plane please.

Hi BOAC,
X Plane 10 is coming out soon and from the screenshots and videos that are available, it looks like it will be THE flight sim to buy in terms of making things as realistic as they can possibly be within limitations.
More specific to your question however, I don't think their default aircraft will include FMC's and they're are not many payware developers for X-Plane.
The only think I can suggest is looking at this site, probably much, much better than FS2004, FSX or X-Plane but obviously much less rich in graphics, but then again if your not concerned about that then it is worth a look.
Welcome to Aerowinx!

Thanks, ad - it is the system functions I need rather than pretty scenery. I'll check that site. In the meantime I'll hope for more replies!
The Wilco publishing Airbus series are FS2004 compatible and the fms and irs work well, there are also some discounts available on some of their products at the moment.Avoid the Aerosoft A320 because at the moment it is a dog!

X-Plane 10 will not be out until the end of 2011.
X-P 9 will have to suffice.......
From Austin Meyer the X-P maker/owner/designer. A recent post on x-plane.org
"X-Plane 10 is much, much, much slower in coming along than I planned.. but it is much, much better as well. It is slow because I have raised the bar ridiculously high for this release, simply because I CAN. SO, I am keeping v9 totally bug-free while v10 is developed, which I am hoping to have ready by the end of this year.[2011]"
So glad I have learnt to be patient.......
