The last two posts got me thinking about my favourite aeroplane saw Tri-star G-BBAE on delivery late one (1974/5) evening at Heathrow for spot of the day.The VC !0 leaving Manchester for New York with my Dad on board back at about the same years ;such a sight and sound.
Concorde has my vote though absolutely unforgettable.

Tritanic???
Mr Pallet - clearly you are allowed internet access from your padded cell!!
The Tritanic was the most unholy spiteful aircraft ever designed - probably flew really well. I'd put the DC10, B727 and Trident before that three engine disaster.
For my part the C17 - just wish they'd make a civvy version one day.

Best Airplane
For me, it's the 747-400. Poetry in motion. The DC3 Dakota is a classic beauty . . . and the sound of those P&Ws is unmistakeable. Of course, it's all subjective, but interesting to note that apart from the A380 "Blimp" (never catch me on one of those), there's only one other mention of an Airbus type - very interesting !

Talking about really, really big aircraft. I never really wanted to fly an aircraft that if I fell out of the cockpit, while sitting on the ground, the fall would kill me.
