Airbus get massive order for reengined A320 NEO

Indigo, 150 A320 NEO's, 30 A320 "Classics" If I could introduce this qualification It seems the A320 NEO is now really launched.

Big question; will they select the PW GTF of GE LEAP-X..

I remember when Indigo placed it's previous massive order years ago, from nothing, nobody took it serious. That's over..

P&W would be my guess: by 2017 it will have been debugged in 4 years of service on the C Series.

EADS lifted Airbus plane order

Good news for Europe.
Airbus basked in the world's biggest commercial plane order on Wednesday, with shares in parent EADS lifted by news of its $15.6 billion (9.9 billion pounds) 180-aircraft deal with Indian airline IndiGo.

The agreed purchase underlines India's development as a major aviation market and provides a welcome boost to EADS Chief Executive Louis Gallois, who has been pushing expansion into emerging markets as traditional markets falter.

Great news for the industry. I flew on IndiGo in September 09 and I was thoroughly impressed by their service, price, personnel & fleet condition. India still has a long way to go in regards to catching China in the commercial aviation industry, despite this substantial order.

It is just a MoU until they finally sign it. I have no doubt that they will. Maybe in Paris this year?

Well, I am not sure. It that the sign aviation industry is back on track and hiring like in 2007 is around the corner?
Will we speculate again and fuel barrel goes to the top, killing the rebounce?
How big is the indian market?
What about those new engines, are they really fuel efficient?
I don't know, when I see a 180 airliners order, apparently the biggest order ever, sure it makes me wonder.
