Gatwick Parking Gates
Hi
Can anyone tell me what parking gates (if any) are available for different airliners at Gatwick?
For example Virgin using Gatwick as a hub may have pre-allocated gates (I would like to express I dont know if this is true im just speaking out loud), therefore these gates could not be used by another airliner?
Thanks for your help.

Airlines will have their preferred gates (proximity of offices/lounges, etc) but a/c can use any gate approved for the type, and certainly while the a/c is away the stand will not stay empty.

Thanks for this response, im still interested to know what airliners prefer what gates.
Again using Virgin as an example will they request a gate within the South terminal or will ATC actively give them a gate within the South Terminal?

Airlines at LGW are 'based' at either south or north terminal as indicated on the airport information boards, although some south based companies do often get particular stands at the north terminal. These terminals are where the pax check-in. I assume there is nothing technically stopping temporary allocation of a stand at north for a south based airline, but the logistics involved for the airline would be significant, particularly for a short turn-round (ie not Virgin), where a change of stand late-on can cause chaos for getting the pax between terminals and often from notified stands to new ones.. Stand planning is a function of the airport authority and they would normally plan to allocate 'normal' stands in the plan..

South Terminal operators would not normally be allocated a parking stand on a North Terminal pier. Obviously the remote stands are available for use by any operator regardless of terminal. The major exception is easyJet, which has a dual terminal operation, so depending on aeroplane rotation may have a South terminal flight arrive on a North stand, if the departure flight is from the North terminal.
