Watching those thousands of miserable refugees at Heathrow last night, I was struck that every one of them had paid the UK Government up to £170 departure tax, for the pleasure of going absolutely nowhere.

I agree the reporting is in general poor and Simon Calder is a .... (feel free to insert any suitable epithet).

Watching the BBC news at Ten last night it was interesting to see the reports of similar problems in France and other parts of continental Europe and even Moscow.

Maybe we dont get it right in the U.K. but seems the same is true elsewhere right now.
