Boscombe Down

Travelling home yesterday westbound on the A303 at 16:40ish I observed, (well okay then "spotted"), a pair of combat types make one pass and then turn in to land at Boscombe. This was especially strange as I remember from my time in the RAF all flying ceased at midday on a Friday for the usual debrief in a local hostelry.

As you can imagine west bound at that time of day on a Friday I couldn't devote that much time to gazing at aircraft. Does anyone know what these two aircraft were?
