Pompey, Great Pics. Never knew that you had forward vision by tail-mounted camera. This makes flying in airliners fun at last depending of course, which airline you are flying. Going on this 'Biggie' on July 10. Cannot wait.

I recall, very many years ago, when BA flew an hourly "Shuttle" to LHR from some airports. DanAir got the right to fly their own service from Manchester and on the day and hour of their first flight BA used a Concorde for their first shuttle flight of the day! Just a bit of one-up-manship!

Use of Concorde on the Shuttle happened at various times when there was some new service, or indeed competitor, for BA to show off against. In fact they weren't such a marketing expense as they used what would otherwise have been training trips, which normally went to Shannon.

I think I was one of the vey few who actually used the Dan-Air service from Manchester to Heathrow, just for the sake of it one afternoon when I was returning to London after a business trip. Surprisingly my BA ticket was fully transferable, it just had to be endorsed over. About 10 passengers on board, in a One-Eleven. It didn't last for long.

Mr Angry, You need a permit for CDG only. Information can be found at aircraftspotting.co.uk\france Hope this helps. LB

I think BA also used a Concorde on one or two Glasgow shuttles to celebrate the 10th anniversary of services in 1986.

Smile Vertical Stabiliser Camera

The idea of a camera to show the passengers is lovely...

except in a 40kt crosswind in an autumn dusk with sheeting rain when the pilot is fighting not to overshoot e.t.c. May well be taking the A380 over to Paris in early July

Enjoyed my first spin on the A380 yesterday. Huge queues to get on a the gate at LHR T4 - 500 pax using one gate and airbridge that only splits into two (for upper and lower decks) some way down. Great flight, with the vertical stabiliser camera being a highlight.
