A380 routes over the UK.

I wonder can anybody tell me if there are any A380 routes that cross the UK,

I live up in the north west and was wondering if any cross this part of the county maybe out of Heathrow going to the USA or from Europe ect,

I have access to one of those live radar gadgets and would like to see what one looks like flying at 35000ft or there about,

I would not be able to id it without the radar box.

They fly over various parts of the UK to/from the Atlantic. If you see an Emirates one with reasonable binoculars, you should see the airline name written underneath in huge letters.

Don't hold your breath, though. I find them incredibly disappointing!!

I think it's a good guess that Air France departs from Paris CDG!

The Emirates A380 that most frequently passes over the north of UK, would be the EK 242 which departs Toronto around 10pm local time on Mondays, wednesdays and Fridays. The routing back to Dubai sometimes then has the A380 flying over the UK around 6-7 am local uk time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday.

Cheers

I have seen several A380s routing over the North West. More oftern than not they route Eastbound in a straight line from Dublin to Walasey or westbound in a line about 10 miles north of this route.

Google Flight Radar 24 for an online flight tracker or if you can find the flight numbers type them into a tracker on flightwise.com to see if they are close by.

Thanks for that Steve interesting, just check the Emirates flight from Toronto and I see its a few hundred miles north of Scotland great circle route I suppose,

I wonder can long haul aircraft fly direct routings these days,

I never knew all this info was available on line fascinating.

The Air France CDG-JFK flight is 006, departs Paris early afternoon. It won't always come as far north as NW England depending on N Atlantic tracks (and volcanic ash clouds permitting).

Once Lufthansa start A380 Atlantic operations then it's likely more will be seen.

<<I wonder can long haul aircraft fly direct routings these days,>>

Rarely has this been the case for many decades.

Over the Atlantic they fly laid down tracks, which are changed on a frequent basis to take advantage of the wind pattern of weather systems. Over the USA, Europe and many other parts of the world they adhere to the various airway routes joining cities.

I was thinking the same question as the OP but I'm in NE England. I guess the LH A380's will be the first ones across NATEB? Any of the EK or SQ ones routing this way?
