An A320 from the the company Wizz air caught fire upon landing in Sofia airport. The fire raged for 20 min before it was put out.
None of the 156 passengers were hurt
Apparently a blown tyre was said to be the culprit.

Havenīt seen it in any english speaking sites yet, and canīt confirm it anywhere else.

Hmmm. I know a wheel/brake fire may not be a big deal, but things can sometimes get out of hand unexpectedly and quickly.

I realise that if the aircraft has no integral steps, getting steps up to the aircraft, if they can be obtained in the frst place, might be difficult with the RFFS milling about, and that popping the slides might be seen as a bit drastic, but...

I am just a little uncertain about keeping passengers aboard a burning aircraft, even if the fire is very small and apparently easily containable, if that really is what happened.

Maybe the fire was put out in seconds, and the 15 minutes wait was for other reasons, such as finding the steps.
