Egypt Air 777 Spraying WHAT at the passengers?

27th Jan, MS 777 Ciro to LHR bloke falls on my pal (who was just feeling lucky he'd got out.) Man collapsed, recovered a tad, but looked very ill.

Shortly after the cabin crew buzzed around spraying something: "In accordance with regulations." [Sic]

A spray worthy of ridding a complex interior of bacteria, would have to be like "bombing" a house for roaches. I for one would be profoundly affected by almost any spray of that type. It seems mindbogglingly irresponsible to me - perhaps worth it, if it did a jot of good. But I doubt it does.

Its normal, flights from certain locations operating into the UK must spray the cabin with an insecticide, the empty cans must be presented to the authorities upon landing to prove that it was done........

No Chemtrails here

It happened to us about 6 years again on a Zante to Gatwick flight as soon as the doors were shut. There were a few small flies buzzing about the cabin which still looked very healthy when we landed !

Always used to be done on inbounds to ZA as well, until I'd guess about the early 90's. The CC used to ask the passengers to cover their nose and mouth with a handkerchief if it was likely to cause discomfort. It smelt foul.

Used to happen on some flights into Thailand...I certainly recall it happening on some SQ flights too; being sprayed by attractive women was never a big negative for me. Only problem I had is it seemed to react with my contact lenses. Or that might have been the copious amounts of wine I drank on SQ and the dry cabin atmosphere.

This also occurred on a BA 777 returning to LGW from Cancun this week.

SQ used to spray every aircraft interior, prior to landing in OZ-land.
Never understood just why, as there are far more objectionable critters in OZ than other places.
Mostly of the two leg variety...

They do it every time on BMI 928 Baku to LHR but not on 929 going he other way.

I've just returned from South Africa. Didn't have anything sprayed when we arrived in JNB (KLM) but on the return JNB-CDG (Air France) the CC walked around spraying the cabin.

Most people were totally fine, one man near me though had a coughing fit.

LIAT do it on every sector of their flights in the Caribbean, sometimes i get sprayed 2 or 3 times getting from Tortola to Antigua depending on the number of stops. BA and VS also spray on their Caribbean flights.
