Anyone identify this programme?

Have never seen this programme repeated and I can't even remember what it was called! Perhaps one of you here could convince me I didn't imagine it?

CH4 or BBC2 documentary, more than 5 years ago, about a "long lost" wartime plane discovered in a restorable condition somewhere on an ice field (it had been there since being abandoned in WW2 iirc). After a couple of years visiting and restoration when weather permitted, the team were ready for a "one shot" taxi and takeoff. But thanks to an unsecured APU, the story had an unexpected ending.

If you don't know what the prog was called, maybe someone can remember a few more details to help me track the story down?

Thanks!

Possibility?

I remember a documentary abour a B-29 which was found in the Ice and restored over a coupleof years.

It was ready for take but caught fire and was destroyed.

I saw this in a Bar in Stockholm!
With a group of collegues , I dont drink so was more keen on the TV, as was a guy from Poland , gobsmacked when I saw the ending.

The only othe possibility was getting a P-38 Lightning out of the Ice,
I can not remember the outcome of that recovery.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, that's the one!

We sat and watched this, and just couldn't believe the ending. I remember the programme trailers mentioning an "incredible end" to the story, but we just reckoned on it taking off into the sunset. How wrong we were.

Thanks for the help, much appreciated

Think that the team returned to the B-29 later and retrieved the engines.
