Speaking of Antonovs, there was a quite unusual turboprop sound grinding eastbound from Woodley direction towards Dover on Sunday - passed over South Croydon about 9am if I remember rightly. Might have been out of Heathrow. Low clag precluded visual identification!
Don't think it was the AN-22, that's really distinctive, but anyone know if it was an AN-12 perhaps? Certainly not a Herc, Q400 or any of the other types that regularly pass over my head.
