Germstone,

What time was it? An RAF Hercules did an approach and go to runway 10 at about 1510, could it have been that?

I did consider it may have been the C130 as I had seen it overhead earlier....But it did not sound quite the same.

possibly an atlantic Electra or something Russian maybe?... it was certainly a more unusual sounding aircraft.

Saw the offenders around 23.00.West to East transit near to Blackpool (tall) Tower.Reliably informed they were a pair of MC-130P's.Sounded slightly different to a normal Herc though.

With Halloween Comming Up

I think it was the "Ghost" of one of those B36's from Burtonwood - With Halloween cumming up you might even hear a the early jet howl of an escort of Banshees' through the murkey stillness of a Lancashire night too. A portent of another wet summer in Blackpool.

CAT III (In his balsawood Sprit).
